Lame Leprechaun Day

Lame Leprechaun Day

Kelsey's Leprechaun trap was quite interesting this year.  She brought home the left-overs from a darling treat her teacher made from her and plopped it onto the kitchen counter and explained that this was her Leprechaun trap and it was going to attract a Leprechaun.  Hmmm...Brian and I looked at each other and thought, o.k., it is sparkly and it might attract something, but how is it going to trap it?  Well, this neatly arranged trap had to remain smack dab in the middle of the counter until the following morning. I wasn't sure I could last that long?

Maybe this was the beginning to our kind of lame St. Patrick's Day?  With so many other things on the docket for this week, St. Patrick's Day kind of took a major back seat this year and I was kind of feeling badly that my kids didn't have a fab morning like I was certain their friends were having.  Oh well, sometimes the mommy on has it together and sometimes the mommy on is well, not so on!

The kids did enjoy some Lucky Charms waiting for them on the window ledge as they came down the stairs.  It was complete with a Doggy note for Spencer and a Kitty note for Kelsey.  Off to the fridge the leprechaun did manage to leave some green milk and  we even were surprised with pancake batter that mysteriously turned green while daddy was out in the garage.  Best of all mommy and daddy had a scavenger hunt complete with clues that led all over the house.  The kids collected real gold dollar coins and ended with a note instructing them to pool their coins together and do something nice for somebody in need.  We were happy that when Kelsey read the final note and thought about somebody she could help, she wanted to purchase something for her friend Jenna Gibson who is in Children's Hospital battling Leukemia right now.
