No Ordinary Day February 5, 2011

My aunt Mary Lou, used to say, "Every day is just an ordinary day, unless you make it something special."  Saturday, February 5, 2011 was indeed a very special day in the life of Kelsey and our family.  She chose to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  We had an amazing day and weekend with family that flew in from Utah.  Both sets of grandparents and 3 cousins came for this occasion.  We celebrated her turning 8 (she finally got her "Family" birthday party at Chuckie Cheese). We also joined together for a special luncheon prior to the baptism to honor her and her decision.  I enjoyed preparing this luncheon as I wanted her to know that this truly was no ordinary day, but yet a day filled with love and family.  We were blessed with many friends both of our faith and those not of our faith who attended the service.  Sis. Anna Price and Grandpa Del were the speakers and 3 of Kelsey's friends sang with her, "If the Savior Stood Beside Me". Grandma Irene gave a poem, Grandma Linda lead the music, Nathan Hall and Grandpa Carl gave the prayers.  We thank all those who influence her and us as we all do our best on this journey through life.  We realize that it takes all these positive influences to successfully raise a righteous family.
