Trunk or Treat

We had a cute little witch and a puppy dog this year for Halloween.  I went totally low key and super thrifty!  Kelsey’s costume cost all of $2.50 for the socks as we had everything else and borrowed the hat from LeeAnn.  Spencer’s costume was given to us by a lady at the bus stop who knew he loved to be a puppy.  His costume was a bit small, but we stuffed him in there.  So, Free and $2.50….I am going to have a hard time beating that deal for next year!

The ward Trunk or Treat is such a fun tradition.  The kids look forward to it almost more than actual Halloween itself.  This year Kelsey was old enough to navigate the church halls and the crowd all by herself.  Spencer, he was a little overwhelmed with the crowd and the crazy things going on in each classroom.  He finally decided that the cookie walk and the fishing booth were o.k. and of course the glow in the dark hockey room.  He was thrilled when his little friend Cameron Schlutte arrived and as you can see the two of them were holding hands in the group picture above.  You will also take note of the picture I took out the car window as we were driving to the church that night.  It was raining like crazy and not so fun to be trunk or treating.  However as the last picture depicts, the trunk or treat was moved inside for the first time ever and the kids could go from chair to chair, classroom to classroom, and down the halls as folks handed out candy.  It totally worked for me as I wasn’t really into getting soaked out there and having wet costumes that would then have to be laundered for Halloween night.  The kids were happy to come home and dump out their candy and compare who had the most.  Good times!
