On August 17, Grandpa Carl was here visiting and my friend Amber had some free passes to the Point Defiance Zoo. We jumped on board for a trip to the zoo and had a really fun time. The animals were really out and more viewable than some trips. Uh, that must be because I insisted we get up and get their early as to avoid the heat and the crowds. It must have worked because from the tigers, to the wolves, to the polar bears, and monkeys, the kids got some awesome interactions that they wouldn’t have usually gotten. Kelsey was more than anxious to get to the budgie birds (not sure how to spell that) as she loves to get them to sit on her stick. She was about to drive us all crazy wondering if it was “time” yet? Happy that the kids got to go to the zoo before school started and happy to share it with some really fun friends.
