Old McDonald Had A Farm
Kent Kids Quota Day on Saturday March 19th was a blast for 1 child (Kelsey) and not such a blast for the 2nd child (Spencer). As you can see from the picture, Spencer was not into the strangers trying to capture a family picture (minus daddy Brian as he was home sick), nor was he into any of the activities such as stick horse races, pony rides, coloring, face painting, bean bag toss, the petting zoo and such. He was overwhelmed by the crowd and simply didn't want to be there. Kelsey on the other hand had a ton of fun and loved each activity, especially the pony ride. Spencer did perk up for the tractor ride and the picnic lunch. It was a beautiful spring day, with no rain and it made it the perfect day to spend at Weber Ranch. After this experience, it caused me to wonder why I go to the trouble of taking Spencer to such events? I keep trying to make him enjoy things that other kids do, but it simply isn't him. I need to accept him for who he is, still expose him to things, but go in with low expectations as to how he might react. This was an event planned for the kids at Children's Therapy Center and it was a marvelous event for families to attend.

Smart Mom to still expose Spencer to new adventures and accept his reactions. Perhaps Kelsey's enthusiam may become contagious in some ways.
