January 2011 got off to a great start with both kids in swimming lessons.  We can't believe with only 2 children that we are already looking for activities that both kids can do at the same time (not easy with an 8 and 2 year old).  Thank you to the Kent Meridian Pool for having both a Parent/Child and a Level Y5-Y6 class at 6:30 p.m. What a joy it is to watch Spencer as he has gone from being Mr. Clingster to Mr. Independent in the water (o.k., maybe not that far, but a huge improvement).  It is equally as exciting to watch Kelsey as she is swimming multiple lengths of the pool, diving off the platform and even learning the butterfly stroke.  I have had fun snapping pictures with my new DSLR camera at the pool and am hopefully going to learn how to use it to get some great shots of our family in the upcoming year.  This post is just the beginning to a great year of Ballard family fun!!!
